Original blank meme ----> Influence Map Template by fox-orian

I was asked by several users on tumblr over time which artists inspire me most. To explain this easily, I filled out this influence meme. I have 7 primary artists that I adore and draw inspiration from constantly. I have many more favorites, but I decided to make this as simple as possible. XD

(1) Tetsuya Nomura

If you are any sort of RPG gamer, then you know Tetsuya Nomura. As the primary character designer for a good chunk of the Final Fantasy series, he is an artist that I (and many others) look up to and have the utmost respect for. His attention to detail is incredible, his use of color and shape is unmatched. I've never looked at one of his designs and thought "meh, it could be more interesting."

(2) Hootsweets

I came across Hootsweets while scouring through Adventure Time fanart. I believe one of the first pieces of hers I saw was of Farmworld Finn and Jake. I really fell in love with her style, which is distinctly hers. Then she started her ML x PG comic, and that's when I found a new OTP. The expressions on characters faces come across strikingly, and she uses rich colors in her illustrations. I'm always excited to see her interpretations of various characters. (Speaking of, she's been doing the screencap redraw thing on tumblr. I love it!)

I've been following Jenny's work for several years now (since like 2011 or 2012?) and I'm very honored to call her my friend. Whether it's Mias & Elle, Moff & Flickerlee, Selkies, or Cavegirls each piece she produces is unique. What I describe as a personalized Disney style, her illustrations encompass all the great features of cartoon animation with a touch of realism. I love this woman, she's awesome, and if you don't know her work already then you are missing out big time.

I actually discovered Sara while my sister and I were hunting for Final Fantasy artwork to add to our group FinalFantasy-Eternal. We came across works that she posted of Squall, Rinoa, and Yuna and Tidus. She's extremely talented with both digital and traditional media. I admire her ability to give her digital illustrations an almost watercolor type of appearance. She uses vibrant, bright colors that just make you feel happy as you look through her works.

(5) Colours07

During a period where I was on a Nightwing kick, I was searching through fanart and came across a comic by Abby (Ahaha, it was a dirty one too) and after looking through more of her gallery, I found myself falling in love with the JayDick ship. I absolutely love her style -- especially the fact that she doesn't follow "conventions" when she draws her women. She gives them meat and they look badass! In her gallery are muscles galore! One other thing I'd like to point out: she's not afraid to use bright and vivid colors, and it works out so well for all of her pieces.

(6) Sami06

Bless this woman, her work is stunning, stunning, stunning! From the anatomy to the shading, her style leans more toward realism. However, she can slip into a manga style. My favorites by her involve her characters Daimon and Crystal -- including the doujinshi she is currently working on. I really admire her works, and if you haven't seen her gallery, I insist that you explore it!

(7) MooseFroos

This guy's mind is just overflowing with ideas and creativity and I absolutely love him for it! I've never seen a style like Lee's before, and I've enjoyed watching his improvement over the past year or so. He has amazing OCs that are all distinct, and I pretty much love them all. Lee is very talented with portraying emotion on his character's faces which I think is my favorite feature of his style. He can make you feel for his characters through illustration, even if there's no prior context to it -- and that's a very powerful trait to have as an artist.

So there you have it! My influence map!

To all the artists I've featured: Thank you ;w; over time, in some way, shape, or form, you've inspired me and helped me to grow as an artist.
